SocioPapa Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SocioPapa (Android package com.sociopapa) accesses, uses, stores, and transmits information. References to “we” and “our” mean the developer named above.

SocioPapa helps you understand app usage, set daily app limits, and optionally filter selected adult-content domains through Porn Protection. It does not require an account. The current app has no advertising, analytics SDK, developer-operated backend, or automatic cloud sync. We do not sell your personal information or use app usage or domain information for advertising.

Information processed by the app

Installed apps. SocioPapa accesses information about launchable apps, including app names, package identifiers, and icons, so you can select apps to limit. Names and package identifiers for configured limits and recorded usage are stored locally.

App usage. With your Usage Access permission, SocioPapa reads Android app/activity usage events and timestamps to calculate foreground use. It stores daily usage totals, configured allowances, and limit-reached timestamps in its private local database. These records support limits, blocking, history, and insights. Processing can continue while the app's interface is closed and protection services are active.

Preferences and protection settings. The app stores your limits, pause settings, appearance and notification preferences, onboarding state, and operational information needed to maintain usage calculations and avoid duplicate notifications.

Protection password. If you enable Porn Protection, the app processes the password you enter and stores a salted, derived password verifier locally. It does not persist your password in readable form. The verifier and salt are excluded from exported backups.

AccessibilityService

SocioPapa uses Android AccessibilityService, with your affirmative consent, to respond to foreground window changes and display a blocking screen when a selected app reaches its allowance. The service receives window-state events, including app identification information. Its configuration does not permit retrieval of window contents.

SocioPapa does not use this service to read messages, typed text, passwords, captions, or video contents, record your screen, or count individual Shorts or Reels. Accessibility information is processed on your device and is not sent to a SocioPapa server. You can revoke accessibility access in Android settings. Revoking it stops accessibility-based app blocking.

Porn Protection and VPN processing

Porn Protection is optional and requires a separate disclosure, your consent, and Android VPN authorization. It creates an on-device VPN interface to inspect DNS domain requests and filter domains using a list included with the app. It does not send your traffic through a developer-operated remote VPN server.

Domain requests are inspected in memory. Blocked DNS requests receive a local blocking response. Allowed DNS requests are forwarded to a resolver provided by your current network. When protection starts, the app also resolves addresses for domains on its blocking list and their www hostnames. These startup lookups do not mean you visited those domains. Traffic routed to blocked addresses may be discarded.

The receiving DNS resolver processes the requested domain and network connection information necessary to answer it. Its operator and your network provider may handle this information under their own policies. The current app forwards DNS using ordinary UDP and does not itself encrypt those forwarded DNS requests. This feature is not an anonymity service and does not promise to conceal browsing activity from your network provider.

SocioPapa does not save a browsing-history log or send inspected domain names to the developer. It does not decrypt HTTPS website contents. Filtering may miss unlisted domains or traffic using alternative DNS mechanisms. A persistent Android notification identifies the active VPN. You can stop it through the app using your protection password or revoke VPN access in Android settings.

Other permissions

Notification permission supports local allowance warnings and status notifications. Network access and network-state access support the VPN's DNS forwarding and network changes. Foreground-service permissions support the visible, ongoing VPN service. Boot and time-change events help the app reconcile protection and usage state.

The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, precise location, or messages. It uses Android's file picker for files you explicitly choose to export or import.

Storage, retention, and security

Usage records, limits, settings, and the password verifier are stored in app-private storage on your device. Android automatic backup is disabled for SocioPapa. The app does not provide an additional encrypted database layer; protection depends in part on Android's app isolation, your device security, and your screen lock. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

The current app does not automatically delete usage history after 30 days. Locally stored records remain until you delete or replace them, clear app storage, or uninstall SocioPapa. A screen showing a limited date range does not establish a retention limit. Removing an app limit does not automatically erase its historical records. DNS requests are processed transiently rather than retained as browsing history.

Export, import, and third parties

You may export a readable JSON file containing limits, usage history, and selected preferences. Exported files are not encrypted by SocioPapa and can reveal sensitive app-usage information. You choose their destination using Android's file picker. If you choose a cloud storage provider or share a file, that provider or recipient receives the information under its own practices. Importing a backup replaces the app's stored data with the selected backup's supported contents.

SocioPapa does not automatically upload these files to the developer. Android, Google Play, your DNS/network provider, and any storage or email provider you choose operate their own services under their own privacy policies.

If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you voluntarily include and use them to respond to your request. Avoid sending usage exports, passwords, or sensitive screenshots unless needed for your request. We retain support correspondence only as necessary to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. You can ask us to delete that correspondence using the privacy contact above.

Your choices and deletion

You can change or remove app limits, revoke Usage Access or accessibility permissions, disable notifications, and stop or revoke the VPN. Revoking a permission does not automatically delete information already stored.

To remove the app's local records, use Delete All Data in SocioPapa, clear SocioPapa's storage in Android settings, or uninstall SocioPapa. Exported files remain wherever you saved or shared them and must be deleted separately. Records independently held by your network, DNS, storage, or email provider are subject to that provider's controls.

There is no SocioPapa account to delete. The developer cannot remotely access or erase the app's private database on your phone. Contact us for help exercising these controls or with privacy questions. Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights concerning information you provide directly to us.

Children and supervised use

[BEFORE PUBLICATION: INSERT THE APP'S CONFIRMED INTENDED AGE GROUP AND ANY CHILDREN'S PRIVACY TERMS REQUIRED FOR THAT AUDIENCE. Align this section with the actual product and the Google Play target-audience declaration. Do not claim that the app excludes children or obtains parental consent unless that is accurate.]

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or its information practices. We will publish the revised policy with an updated effective date. Where required, material changes will also be explained within the app and new consent will be requested before the relevant processing begins.
